Bang Hai Telecon

The Telecon stands as an immersive theatrical venue and serves as a satirical nod to the real-world experience of lodging complaints. This concept debuted in Boomtown's Chinatown district in 2017, housed within a 10m x 10m marquee. Inside, an office space was constructed, complemented by six functional phone boxes scattered throughout Chinatown’s streets.

Interactive Complaint Channels

Revellers at the festival have three distinct avenues for interaction:

  1. Complaining Over the Phone: Using phone boxes strategically placed around Boomtown, attendees can voice their grievances through the immersive telephone system provided by Compass Presents.

  2. Complaining In Person: For a more personal touch, attendees can engage with our apathetic complaints handlers, who amusingly process paperwork before ceremoniously shredding it in front of the dissatisfied ravers.

  3. Job Application in the Call Center: As part of Boomtown's immersive maze in 2017, individuals could take their complaints journey a step further by applying for a job in the call centre, adding an extra layer of interactive storytelling to the overall experience.

Integral to The Telecon's functionality is the telephone system provided by Compass Presents who’s phone system has established presence at renowned festivals like Shambala and Glastonbury.

Step into the immersive world of Telecon, where complaints transform into a theatrical odyssey, and the lines between reality and satire blur.
