Mind Control Centre

In the clandestine folds of Boomtown's narrative, the Mind Control Centre emerged as a hidden sideshow, seamlessly integrating into both the overarching storyline and the festival’s set. Housed within a discreet 3m x 3m marquee in the Town Centre, directly opposite the festival's main stage, this unique attraction operated exclusively under the cloak of darkness. The venue's purpose? To subject festival-goers to a simulated brainwashing experience, an essential step in indoctrinating them into the regime of Comrade Jose, the town's mayor.

The Theatrical Setup

Within the confines of the marquee, festival-goers discovered a small hospital-like setup featuring operating chairs, medical instruments, and intriguing 'mind control technology.' The immersive experience began with a hidden door opening, revealing a doctor who would select an unwitting participant from the crowd. Once chosen, the individual would be ushered into the venue, seated in the operating chair, and subjected to a short propaganda video projected onto a screen.

Subtle Experimentation and Brainwashing

Under the watchful eyes of the doctor and his assistant, the participant would undergo simulated experimentation, aiming to instil allegiance to Comrade Jose's regime. The immersive journey delved into the surreal, with the brainwashing process executed theatrically. Successfully indoctrinated, the participant would then be escorted to the exit, confusingly finding themselves in a different part of the festival.
